This bundle includes:
Digital Reading Response Journal: This digital reading response journal in Google Slides™ is a great way for students to track their reading while working on writing. I created this for Mandie T. who uses the reading workshop model in which students are taught a skill during a mini lesson. Students then take this skill and apply it to their independent reading and type a response in their journal using the skill with their own book.
Digital graphic organizers are included in this resource to help students brainstorm for their written response if needed. Students also have the option of creating their own graphic organizers in Google Drawing™.
This resource for Google Drive™ comes as 10 different slides. However, the slides are intended to be duplicated as many times as needed throughout the year.
15 Graphic Organizers in Google Slides: This is a set of 15 different digital graphic organizers that can be completed independently or collaboratively in Google Slides to go along with any text.
Directions for students appear at the bottom of each slide. Students simply type their ideas in text boxes that are already provided on each slide.

Digital Brochure in Google Slides : Have your students make a digital brochure in Google Slides! This is a blank template they can use to create a brochure on any topic you are studying. Students type their text in text boxes that are already provided as well as insert images of their choice. Example and editable grading rubric included. Great to use for author's purpose!
Digital Book Report in Google Slides : Have students do a book report in Google Slides using this template. It can be completed independently or collaboratively . Includes:
★ Slide 1: Product Cover Page
★ Slide 2: Directions for adding a selfie
★ Slide 3: Directions for adding images to slides

Design a Book Cover in Google Drive : Create a Book Cover in Google Drive to add to a collaborativeand INTERACTIVE bookshelf on a Google Slides presentation! Students will design a book cover in Google Drawing. They will save and add their book to a collaborative Google Slides presentation that contains an image of two different bookshelves. Students will hyperlink their book cover to a different slide within the presentation (directions are included). On this slide students will type a description of their book. Each slide contains a "home" icon that will take you back to the main slide. Once all of the students have added their image and description they can put the presentation in presentation mode to present. The hyperlinks in this presentation will make it very interactive!
Note: The Google Drawing portion of this project cannot be completed on iPads since Google Drawing is not yet an iOS app.
Graphing Book Genres : Graphing Book Genres in Google Slides is a digital writing activity that can be adapted for a variety of grade levels. Use this as a whole class or as individual reading logs! The main slide is entitled Genres of Books Read and contains a book bank of 30 books. When a book is read from start to finish, students drag and drop a book from the book bank onto the genre column that represents that book. Books are hyperlinked to take students to a description slide template in which they type in the book title, genre and a description of the book. Each description slide contains a home icon that will take students back to the main graphing slide. Having students type a description of a book is a great way to check to see if they actually read the book .
Author's Purpose in Google Slides: Author's Purpose Sort in Google Slides: This digital activity will involve students creating their own PIE (persuade, inform and entertain...author's purpose) of resources using Google Slides! This Google Slides template has a pie divided into three sections: persuade, inform and entertain. Students will use the Google Search feature to find images of books and other resources to add to the correct pie piece.
Making Connections in Google Slides: Teaching students how to make text to self, text to text and text to world connections is a great way to help them learn how to make meaning from the texts they read. This digital making connections reading response log can be used with any text and as many times as you would like. Slides can easily be duplicated. Several questions appear on this slides to guide students in making a text to text, text to self and text to world connections.
Digital Vocabulary Dictionary in Google Slides : This interactive digital dictionary can be completed in Google Slides to keep track of important vocabulary terms your students learn throughout the year. Everything is editable.
A table of contents page already has pre-loaded links for each letter of the alphabet that will take students to the correct slide. They simply type in the topic and click on the link to take them to the correct slide template. Each slide contains directions in the comments.
Students type in their vocabulary words and definitions. They can use the digital dictionary built into Google Slides to look up definitions of unknown words. They can even do research within the Explore tool for enrichment.
Making Words in Google Slides : Making Words in Google Slides is a great way to have your students start their day! Ever played Boggle? This Google Slides digital activity will get your students making words just like in the game. Included are 10 different pre-made Making Words templates that I set as the background to the slides. Students simply click on "type here" to add the words they see on the letter board. An eleventh slide is included in which you can edit the letters within the board. Duplicate that slide to make as many boards as you would like!
Making Predictions in Google Slides : This resource can be used as one big collaborative Google presentation with your students in which you duplicate slides for each student. Or, it can be used individually. Students can make predictions about any story by one of three ways:
•type response inside of the crystal ball
•find images through the built in search feature to put inside of the crystal ball
•use the drawing tools to draw inside of the crystal ball
When students finish making their predictions, launch the presentation to display all of the different "guesses" your students made for each other to read!
Digital Nonfiction Writing Journal : 20 expository writing prompts/topics with images are included. Also, a blank writing template along with directions on how to copy and paste the extra writing page are included. Students respond to the prompt by typing in the text boxes that are provided. They will need to use the Explore tool within Google Slides to look up information about most of the topics. Instructions with screenshots are included to help students locate the Explore tool.
Digital CREATIVE Writing Journal : 20 creative writing prompts with images are included. Also, a blank writing template along with directions on how to copy and paste the extra writing page are included. Students respond to the prompt by typing in the text boxes that are provided.
Friendly Letter Template in Google Slides: Have your students type a friendly letter in Google Slides. This product contains a slide that is formatted with the 5 main components of a friendly letter: heading (date), salutation, body, closing and signature. Students highlight the red text and replace with their information and body of their letter.
Digital Fairy Tale Elements in Google Slides: Digital Fairy Tale Elements in Google Slides is a paperless way to study fairy tales using Google Drive. You can use ANY title(s) with this resource. Even if your students do not have Google accounts, you can use this as a whole group activity!
Context Clues Digital Activity: Context Clues Digital Activity for Google Drive™ is one of my favorite reading activities to teach students the importance of context clues. The beginning of the presentation explains what context clues are and why they are important. The lesson wraps up by having students guess what some nonsense words mean as context clues are added to sentences. Students really get into this and it also shows them how adding details to their writing makes it easier to understand! Mid-way through the presentation there is a link to SafeShare video that will take you to an audio file for a Context Clues song. The Guessing Game (4 Rounds): Students can guess the meaning of the context clues in a variety of ways:
★ Use a backchannel to submit guesses
★ Type guesses in a Google Doc™ or Google Sheet™
★ Write guesses on an individual white board
★ Write guesses in a journal
★ Think, Pair, Share (each round students could partner up with someone different)
Great for distance learning!
This product bundle comes as a link in a PDF file. First, make sure you are signed into your Google account. Click on the link and you will be prompted to "Make a Copy" of the Google Slides. Rename the presentation to whatever you would like. It will be sent directly to your Drive! All of the products will be linked into this Google Slides presentation. Click on each link and you will be prompted to "Make a Copy". Disperse the digital activities to your students via Google Classroom, Google Drive Shared folder, your Learning Platform, etc..
