What educators are saying

I love all of the breakout slides! This was an excellent resource and helped my students better understand.
I used this to review RACE writing with my class and they loved it! They were really engaged, and it helped them to practice the skills!

Description

Make the RACE writing strategy fun with this no-prep digital escape as students complete 4 engaging tasks to 'breakout' of the activity. Students must be close and critical readers to solve these codes.

This RACE writing activity can be used for online, virtual, or distance learning.

Throughout the RACE Writing breakout students will:

  • identify the components of a RACE paragraph
  • determine the sections of RACE writing samples
  • complete their own RACE paragraph response
  • evaluate student RACE writing samples for necessary components

Note: The last task has students compose their own RACE paragraph using the RACE writing strategy. This section is not automatically graded by the Google Form as the first three sections are.
