Description

This *DIGITAL & PRINTABLE* Google slide product is a 3 day bootcamp that helps introduce your upper elementary students to the RACE Writing About Reading Strategy (or a good review). Using the strategy "Restate, Answer, Cite, Explain," students will learn how to expand upon their answers to include text evidence and explaining their thinking. Students will engage in different activities each day to color-code a RACE answer and practice writing their own.

Included:

-1 fictional short stories (4-5th grade level)

-Option of using "The Girl Who Never Made Mistakes" read-aloud for no prep OR using your own short story

-Posters for RACE (Color & Black/White)

-Teaching worksheets/mini-anchor charts

-Lesson plan ideas for 3 days (links to additional fictional short stories)

-Editable/blank templates to include your own fictional stories
