R Controlled AR Words Shark Light Table or Flashlight Cards Kindergarten Grade 1

These 18 cards are perfect for beginning readers working on R Controlled AR words. The students read the word below the sharks and then self-check by shining a flashlight through or placing them on the light table.

Print the shark word cards onto cardstock and the object pictures on normal paper. Put glue all over the front of the object picture papers. Glue each object picture sheet and its corresponding shark word sheet together by placing the object pictures behind the words. Cut out each card first and then laminate the individual cards. Leave a slight edge around your laminate so it doesn’t separate. If there is an air pocket around the card, leave a larger laminate border. Depending on the brightness of your light table, you might use paper for both parts instead of cardstock. Test it first.
