What educators are saying

I used this for 7th and 8th grade students in summer school. It was a wonderful resource for review as well as introducing the rules for quotations marks. I will definitely use this resource again!
Extremely satisfied with this resource. We can always use extra practice with mechanics ! Thanks for a great resource !

Description

Quotation Marks - Students review and practice the use of quotation marks in their writing. I find students love to add dialogue to short stories but they lack the skills to know how to punctuate their work correctly.

Using a unique set of "Quote Cards" as writing prompts, students can put their new found punctuation skills to the test. Each "Quote Card" starts with a line of dialogue to help students start a short story or paragraph.

Includes 15 pages!

  • Lesson Idea Sheet
  • "Using Quotation Marks Correctly" Reference sheet
  • Student practice / review sheet with answer key
  • 36 Quote Cards to be used as writing prompts (each card has a piece of dialogue meant to inspire a short story or short dialogue between two characters.)
  • 9 blank cards to add your own quote / dialogue to inspire student writing (this page comes as an editable PowerPoint file)
  • 5 Posters that outline the rules of using quotation marks
