Description
Print and laminate this map, then display it in a classroom, computer lab or library to watch how the students are drawn to it. Make this a center with word wall words, asking "which words can we spell using just left hand letters?" etc.
They will poke the letters to spell their names or time each other on poking the letters from A to Z. Encourage them to think of the top of the map as North and the bottom as South. Reinforce that the left side of the map is West while the right side of the map is East.
