What educators are saying

Great interactive notebook printable! The squares are a strong visual for learning why we used squared numbers in the Pythagorean Theorem.
I used this as an introduction and my students found this enjoyable once they figured out what they were being asked to do.

Description

This resource gives students the opportunity to make observations and draw conclusions about the Pythagorean Theorem before receiving any instruction.

During this activity, students will conduct a series of trials with different leg options, trying to construct right triangles. They'll make observations and try to explain the patterns, or rules, they noticed during their explorations. This helps students gain a conceptual understanding of the Pythagorean Theorem and see it in action.
