Description

What is this product?

This is an interactive lesson that combines a read aloud with a recipe craft.

First, the students will be introduced to the topic that the lesson will cover with an I can statement.

Next, the students will learn about the schedule for the lesson.

Then, students will engage with an EdPuzzle read aloud of I know an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Pie. I created this EdPuzzle with graphics that can be found on students AAC talker devices. The graphics are also available to print within the google slides. The EdPuzzle stops the read aloud and asks students a WH question about the story.

After the read aloud, the students will make pumpkin pie play-doh. The slides break down the project into smaller, more manageable pieces for students; find materials, steps 1-7 to make play-doh and a timer to play with play-doh.

Once the read aloud, making play-doh and playing with play-doh is finished- their is a simple closure question.

Graphics that can be printed, laminated and velcroed to support students comprehension of the read aloud.

How to use product?

This product is intended to use during periods of time teaching sequencing, WH questions, occupational therapy goals, communication modes etc. This product is a wonderful way to bring in the fall season with overarching perspectives of thanksgiving, pumpkin growth, different ways to celebrate thanksgiving etc.

The GoogleSlides is a basis for further instruction and student guidance. The Slides have various graphics that link closely to snapcore, touchchat, proloquo-2-go AAC communication devices and can be used to demonstrate students understanding of each sequential step.
