This engaging group of activities is designed for Trigonometry and PreCalculus. Students apply their reasoning skills along with their trigonometric skills to solving identities. The PowerPoint has nine problems done out step by step with animations. The matching cards are designed to reinforce and enhance mastery of the concepts. The rules used to solve the equations are the Pythagorean identities, the reciprocal laws, quotient identities, even and odd rules, and periodic rules.
Included
- Two sets of 9 cards, one with QR codes, and one without. The QR’s do not give a solution, but instead a helpful hint to get started. Students do not need an internet connection to use the QR codes, but do need a device with a QR reader installed.
- An animated PowerPoint™ showing the solutions step by step, as well as a one-sheet with the solutions for your convenience.
- Blank cards for you to personalize a problem you may have emphasized.
- Additional set of cards in Black and White for easy printing.
- Show your work organizational pages.
- Graphic organizer and guideline (8 1/2 x 11") with the formulas needed to complete the identities
- Smaller versions of the organizers for notebooks (4" x 5").

There are many ways to use this resource. One suggestion is to use the PowerPoint with the entire class for 4 or 5 problems, then use the rest of the task cards for small groups, concluding with the PowerPoint so they can see the solutions. Vary between classes.
Altogether there are 14 solved problems.
