What educators are saying

I love using foldables so this was perfect for me! I used it to cover properties of real numbers in a day. It was easy to use. My kids folded it and cut the different flaps. We did the "note" side of it and I had them practice identifying the properties on the other side on their own.
Properties are a concept my students have had before and are bored with—though they still don’t remember them. Having a tool they can handle and see cuts through the boredom and increases retention.

Description

This editable algebra foldable provides students with an organized set of notes and practice on the properties of real numbers. This download includes multiple different foldables covering notes and examples for properties of real numbers. As shown in the preview, properties may include some or all of the following properties- the commutative, associative, identity, inverse, property of zero, distributive, reflexive, symmetric, transitive, and closure property.

Includes a PDF version for print + go and an editable PowerPoint version to edit for use with your students, as you see fit.

Option 1: Includes the commutative, associative, identity, zero property of multiplication and the multiplication property of -1.

Option 2: Includes the commutative, associative, and identity.

Option 3 (booklet style): Includes the commutative, associative, identity, inverse, property of zero, distributive, reflexive, symmetric, transitive, and closure property.

These foldables are also included in my:

Apply the properties of operations to generate equivalent expressions. For example, apply the distributive property to the expression 3 (2 + 𝘹) to produce the equivalent expression 6 + 3𝘹; apply the distributive property to the expression 24𝘹 + 18𝘺 to produce the equivalent expression 6 (4𝘹 + 3𝘺); apply properties of operations to 𝘺 + 𝘺 + 𝘺 to produce the equivalent expression 3𝘺.
Explain why the sum or product of two rational numbers is rational; that the sum of a rational number and an irrational number is irrational; and that the product of a nonzero rational number and an irrational number is irrational.
