This was a great way for my students to learn more about describing matter in its solid state. They really liked the edible part of it!
My students totally loved investigating and eating their science! They worked with a partner and took a very close look at different types of crackers. Some students had to dig deep to find ways to describe the cracker, but getting to eat it was pretty motivating.
Description
This simple cracker lab is a fun way to keep your learners engaged during your properties of matter unit.
You may use whatever crackers you choose to have students sort, observe and record what they notice. The recording sheet also has a small word bank for each column for added assistance.
Students may complete this simple lab individually, with a partner or in small groups depending on the needs of your classroom.
Cracker suggestions: Cheeze-Its, Triscuts, Toasteds, Ritz, Saltines, Club, Animal Crackers. Goldfish, Etc.
