Propaganda in Fiction & Non-Fiction Texts

This teaching module includes instructional design elements for critical thinking through inquiry and dialogue. In this unit, students will gain an understanding of the Big Idea – Propaganda – and its importance in school, career, and life. Not only will students gain familiarity with various techniques used in propaganda, but they will also use reason and evidence to support their developing ideas and understanding of the Big Picture.

-paragraph writing
-examining and comparing multiple texts
-think/pair/share
-reading excerpts from grade 11 novels and speeches
-completing a dialectical journal
-a culminating essay or project
