Description

This spreadsheet automatically generates a vertical and horizontal position projectile motion graph when initial vertical and horizontal velocities are entered. The graphs can be used to create worksheets or for students to explore the affect of different horizontal and vertical velocities on other projectile variables. It can also be used to check answers to projectile motion problems.

Understanding how to use the chart editor in Google Sheets is very helpful in adjusting the graph settings to display the full range of motion.

NGSSHS-PS2-1
Analyze data to support the claim that Newton’s second law of motion describes the mathematical relationship among the net force on a macroscopic object, its mass, and its acceleration. Assessment is limited to one-dimensional motion and to macroscopic objects moving at non-relativistic speeds. Examples of data could include tables or graphs of position or velocity as a function of time for objects subject to a net unbalanced force, such as a falling object, an object sliding down a ramp, or a moving object being pulled by a constant force.
