What educators are saying

My students enjoyed this activity. I required that they use at least 5 colors and they look great on my classroom wall.
Students were able to take information and create their own visuals. They loved it. Easy to prepare.

Description

As part of a unit on comparative cultures and religions, this project is an excellent way to familiarize students with the Five Pillars of Islam.

The resource includes a PowerPoint that introduces students to the Five Pillars. Each pillar includes a brief definition accompanied by pictures that allow for class discussion. The PowerPoint is saved using a Calibri font and in an Office 97-2003 format. The font, instructions, and due date can be adjusted as needed.

The resource also includes a template teachers can use to have their students illustrate the Five Pillars. The pdf template is designed to fit on 8.5 x 14 paper. However, experience has shown that it is much more advantageous to increase the size by 129% and place the template on 11 x 17 paper.

I have also included a sample of what a completed project might look like.
