This Dream Vacation Project Based Learning Unit focuses on providing students with having a realistic and authentic experience of planning a Dream Vacation for another person. This could be another classroom teacher, administrator, parent, or fiend.

Dream Vacation PBL – Plan a Trip - 8th Grade Social Studies

This Dream Vacation Project Based Learning Unit exemplifies the critical components of a true PBL and has the following elements built into the PBL Design:

-Authentic Experience
-Student Voice and Choice
-Reflection
-Critique and Revision
-Public Product

Students will utilize their knowledge of geography to plan and organize a Dream Vacation for another person.

For example, students in the past have planned out a Honeymoon Vacation for a teacher and her husband after their wedding in July. The authenticity and real world aspect of this PBL has worked very well in our classrooms and we hope it does the same for yours.
