What educators are saying

Great notes! Students were able to grasp the concepts quickly and I loved that it completely aligned with the standards.
I have always struggled to find resources that are well aligned to N.RN.3 and this is very well-aligned. It goes beyond having students simply identify rational and irrational numbers and has them go a step further and examine patterns around adding and multiplying these numbers.

Description

This editable algebra 1 foldable organizes the product and sum of rational and irrational number, using the following three tabs:

  • Product & Sum of a RATIONAL & RATIONAL Number
  • Product & Sum of a RATIONAL & IRRATIONAL Number
  • Product & Sum of an IRRATIONAL & IRRATIONAL Number

This foldable provides a statement and example for each operation.

MAFS.912.N-RN.2.3 OR MACC.912.N-RN.B.3 - Explain why the sum or product of two rational numbers is rational; that the sum of a rational number and an irrational number is irrational; and that the product of a nonzero rational number and an irrational number is irrational.

Perfect for interactive math notebooks! I use this type of assignment during whole group guided instruction, but it would also work great for intervention, small group, centers, or during a tutoring session.

This download includes a print + go PDF version, as well as the editable PowerPoint file.
