Description

Prisoner B-3087 Novel Sidekick

Turn your novel into a picture book with this chapter-by-chapter photo filled slideshow!

This Prisoner B-3087 Novel SIDEKICK is made to be used as a visual support for your students throughout the novel. Whether you use novels as a read aloud or assign chapters for students to read independently, this slideshow will work for you!

***This product contains 235 slides filled with illustrations of the setting, characters, vocabulary, figurative language, and background knowledge that will anchor your students’ engagement in the novel. I created this chapter-by-chapter slideshow to help my students visualize the setting, characters and events throughout the novel. It also contains hundreds of real historical photos and contains additional historical information to help students engage with the text and boost their background knowledge of the World War II and Holocaust events. Whenever the book references a real historical individual, I include real pictures of that individual. I am formerly a English teacher, but teach history now so this slideshow contains the best of both worlds!

At the end of each chapter, I also have a discussion question that can either be used to have a class discussion or be used to check comprehension.

There is a short introduction at the beginning of the slideshow. Students will get a good idea of where the story takes place and as much background as I can reveal about the main characters and plot. The slide show continues chapter by chapter. There are several slides per chapter depending on the content. There is a title slide per chapter and every slide has a page number so it makes it very easy to follow along for the students!

Pacing Guide and Weekly Schedule

2 chapters per day is usually a good pace for my students. Some wanted to read more and others were ready to call it quits for the day usually.
