Description

These printable Bar Model Manipulatives are a great resource to help familiarize students with bar models, to send home for students to use manipulatives at home, or to help teach fractions, strip diagrams, problem solving with part/part/whole, and more!

Available in two options:

  • Full Color: Best for printing on cardstock and laminating for extended use in the classroom.
  • Black and White: Great for students to color and cut to help familiarize themselves with bar models and have their own set.

For many problems, one page/set is plenty, however, for more complicated problems (such as modeling multiplication on a strip diagram or addition with multiple addends), you may need to print 2 or more pages to obtain the correct number of each sized bar. To create a nice set or students to use over and over again in class for any type of problem, we recommend printing 3-4 pages in color on cardstock, laminating, and placing in a bag for students to easily access. Students can then write on them and erase using a dry erase marker.
