Description
As part of an overall discussion of the influences upon American government, this resource consists of a graphic organizer that divides excerpts from both the Magna Carta and the English Bill of Rights into sections that students can then paraphrase, either individually or in groups. Doing so makes the speech more accessible to all learners.
The resource also includes a series of questions based on each document. The questions, which progress in complexity, also establish connections with specific amendments in the US Bill of Rights.
Answer keys for both the graphic organizer and the document-based questions are provided.
For those seeking distance learning options, the assignment can be readily converted to a digital activity using Google Slides.
I have used this resource in my own class room for years and am certain you will find this a valuable addition to your curriculum.
