What educators are saying

This was very clear and easy for researching the presidents. I like that they pack a lot of facts into a small space that look good on a bulletin board complete with pictures!
Such a great resource. My 5th graders have enjoyed looking up information for the president that they were given, and the templates are laid out in a user-friendly way. We used these for a President's Day activity, and it made a short writing activity easier and enjoyable.

Description

Create and amazing display for Presidents' Day by using these research banners for all United States Presidents.....that means each child can research their own President. The third Monday in February is Presidents' Day in the US, so what a great opportunity to learn about the role these fascinating individuals played in history. You could also use these any time during the year you are studying Presidents, as the banner pieces don't actually refer to the holiday. Don't forget to click on the preview image.

Also, if you are using them for Presidents' Day, and you want them to learn about the two Presidents typically celebrated, you can have them only do Washington and Lincoln.

I have updated the file with a Donald Trump poster. At the time of this posting, he has been elected but inauguration day has not occurred. He will need to serve for some time before all parts of the poster can be filled in.

The completed Presidential banner is going to look perfect as a hallway display or within the classroom. You can attach the pieces to yarn and drape them, or you can simply staple them to a bulletin board. They are designed to be a banner, but they don't have to be connected. Hang it at the beginning of February and keep it up all month. Honestly, they would look great to keep up the rest of the year.

I have marked these Presidential biography posters for grades 4-6, but I feel they will be most popular in grades 4-5. Please use your best judgment and click on the PREVIEW button above to get a better idea as to what you are purchasing. Some teachers in grades 7-8 may also find these suitable. Once again, look closely and you can decide. :-)

Grab your media specialist, get your computers ready, and have fun learning about some new people. Have the students check out books and complete it as an in-class project. It could also be an at-home project, and then you can have the students report orally.

Another suggestion is to have the students use the banner pieces as an organizer and then use the information to do a more formal writing.

On each poster you will find the name of a President along with a black/white outline image of the person.

Students will fill in the below information:

*Their own name

*#President

*# years in office

*Preceded by

*Succeeded by

*political party

*Year born/died

*military service

*Other occupations

*First Lady

*Vice President

*Place born

*State Represented

*Pets

#of kids

*Quote

*Major accomplishments while in office

*Adjectives to describe

*Other Facts

******There is also a banner piece that can be printed on the back if you want them to have more research spaces. The students can label these however they would like.

******I have also included color images to add to your banner to make it pop, as well as bow to print and hang on the ends if you want to use them.

Please... if you ever notice anything in my products that needs to be corrected, such as a date or any other factual information, please send me a message before you rate the product. I do my best to research thoroughly and provide historical facts. I can look back over and have a new copy uploaded fairly quickly.

Also, if you notice typos or anything else, that is appreciated too. Even with several sets of eyes looking over my work, at times a word can be missed. Thanks so much ahead of time.
