Are you looking for engaging and meaningful Presidents' Day activities? This resource has everything you need for a great ELA and History Unit on the Presidents. Your students will love learning about President George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt, John F. Kennedy and Barack Obama, all while practicing their fluency, learning new vocabulary and writing a biography report on a president.

Reader's Theater Scripts

This unit includes 6- 2 part Reader’s Theatres Scripts on 6 different Presidents. They are loaded with facts that your students will learn. A reporter interviews the President asking key questions about his life.

Vocabulary Word Cards

The vocabulary cards go along with words used in the Reader’s Theatre Presentations. These 18 words would be great to use in a pocket chart for matching or to introduce before or after reading about the Presidents. Three vocabulary worksheets are also included for students to work on.

President cloze sentence activity

Students fill in the missing words on the worksheet, this helps with vocabulary and comprehension of what they have read. One worksheet for each president. Answer keys are also included.

Compare and Contrast Activity

Comparing President George Washington and Abraham Lincoln for a great Venn diagram activity where students use the skill of comparing and contrasting. It includes Pictures and word cards which you sort under Abraham Lincoln, George Washington or both. Use in a pocket Chart for a great lesson on comparing and contrasting. Then for follow up use the worksheet included for your students to do independently.

Biography Report Research Writing Activity

Rough draft paper that has an easy to follow step by step guide to making a great report on a President of the United States.

Final draft paper.

Also included letters for your bulletin board “Meet the Presidents”
