What educators are saying

This has been so helpful because our district no longer does mass screenings for kindergarten. :) Thank you!
This assessment was extremely useful for my students who have Moderate/severe disabilities. I liked how I was able to print out the file and immediately use it. This file covers numbers, letters, and different concepts. A very good resource.

Description

Use these preschool and kindergarten intervention checklist screenings and progress monitoring assessment checklists to determine if your students have any areas of difficulty, and use the checklist data to help you develop an intervention plan with your teachers and parents. The kit will allow you to progress through several tiers of intervention while collecting pre and post-test data. It can also gather baseline data to write your IEP goals and objectives for your annual reviews. In addition to being used with preschool through kindergarten students, it can also gather progress monitoring data on moderate to severe students.

This kit contains the following areas to be targeted for intervention:

  • baseline screening instrument
  • baseline checklist
  • color identification
  • shape identification (includes 3D shapes)
  • number identification
  • rote counting to 20 and 100
  • object identification
  • object function
  • pragmatics
  • wh questions
  • rhyming
  • concepts
  • problem-solving
  • categories
  • associations
  • body parts
  • directional concepts
  • letter identification (upper and lower case)
  • letter sound identification
  • RTI Results Graph

How does this product help you with the intervention process?

  • Use the included screener to identify the areas in your student require intervention
  • Based on the screening results, use the appropriate informal assessment pretest to gain baseline data.
  • Then, the interventionist will pull the child to teach the target for a set time (determined by the RTI committee).
  • After the teaching/drilling time, give the child the post-test in the same area.
  • Plot your pretest and post-test data on the included RTI graph.
  • Take this information to the next RTI meeting, during which the committee will determine what interventions were successful and if further interventions are necessary.
  • The RTI graph has slots available, so if necessary, you can show several different areas of intervention on the same graph.

How does this product help you with the progress monitoring process?

  • Use the included informal language assessments to gather data for your annual IEP reviews.
  • Use the data collected to develop your speech-language goals.
  • Use the included graph to show progress visuals in your IEP meetings with parents and teachers.

I also shared this product with a special education self-contained low-functioning classroom teacher this year. She was able to use the informal assessments for her end-of-the-year testing. She then took the areas of need and created IEP goals based on the information gathered during her evaluation! I love how this then became something that could be used as an intervention or as an informal assessment that can be used with your lower-level students in special education!
