What educators are saying

LOVE this resource! I got multiple complimenting packs and love how it includes everything I need. I am in the process of condensing my curriculum from various sources that don't naturally work together and making them fit together better and this helped me get much further in that process!
I use these pages each week with my students for handwriting instruction and practice. I love the drawing page.

    Description

Save money with this handwriting BUNDLE! Summer time is the best time to get your preschooler ready for the upcoming school year. By popular demand, I created a special set of occupational therapist approved handwriting practice sheets specifically designed for our youngest students. The size, scale, and proportions of the letters are designed to set preschoolers up for ultimate success when learning to write for the first time. This set is the perfect way to introduce your little ones to the Handwriting Without Tears® curriculum.

What’s included? Each set in this bundle includes more than FOURTEEN worksheets for every letter A-Z. The amount of handwriting practice on each page is the perfect amount of daily practice for a preschool aged child. Too much will cause fatigue and frustration, not enough will not show any progress or success. Each page builds off of the skill from the previous page and ulitimately the student should be able to independently write the letter without the provided handwriting guides.

The letter tracing on these pages are intentionally enlarged to accommodate a young child’s developing hand size. Often times handwriting worksheets make the letters too small or cram them too close together. This is disastrous for beginning writers
especially children under 5 years old. Their little hands are not developed enough to create proper letter formation. When learning a new skills, it is important that
children do not feel frustrated or discouraged. Otherwise handwriting turns into a dreaded chore. Handwriting is an important lifetime skill, and we want this to be a FUN first experience for them.

Unlike many other handwriting worksheets, these practice sheets separate the capital letters from the lowercase letters. Most other handwriting printables include the accompanied lower case letter/capital letter on the same page. The HWT teacher's guide highly discourages this. Their curriculum suggest starting with capital letters alone before teaching the lower case letters This will eliminate a confusing and cluttered worksheet when your little ones are first introduced to the new letter.

✏️ Why start with capital letters first? ✏️

When students learn to write their capital letters first, they develop a strong handwriting foundation. After learning capital letters - learning lowercase letters is very simple. C, O, S, V, W, X, Y, and Z are the same strokes for both capital and lowercase. And J, K, T, and P are very similar to their lowercase partners. If students correctly learn capitals correctly, they are already prepared for nearly half of the lowercase alphabet!

It is important for new writers to practice everyday for a short, focused time. Daily focused practice is an important long term component of building good handwriting skills. Many times children are taught each letter once with a page of practice and then it is assumed that they know how to write properly. Continued daily practice and attention to letter formation is required to develop good handwriting. These practice sheets will build your student's handwriting skills and confidence.

Please note: This bundle is temporarily priced lower for a limited time to show my gratitude to the customers who follow my store. Because of the time and work involved to produce this set, the price will increase after a short period of time.

As a former Disney graphic designer (and typography enthusiast), I took extra care to ensure the authenticity of each HWT letter stroke formation. Many handwriting workbooks and worksheets are poorly designed, requiring students to cram their words into spaces that are too small. I designed these practice worksheets focusing on size, scale, and proportion of the lines and letters to give optimal success for your beginning writer. Each practice sheet includes handwriting guide boxes to prevent letter reversals and help students learn how to place letters and numbers. I hope you and your students enjoy these simple yet effective handwriting practice printables.
