Learning Objective

Given a sentence, students will identify the preposition and the prepositional phrase.

Description

This game includes 39 cards with prepositions. This is a great activity if you are looking for an opportunity to engage your entire class! I also frequently use these cards with smaller intervention groups- I just give more cards to each student!

Students must listen to a sentence containing 1 prepositional phrase, and determine whether they have the preposition mentioned in the sentence listed on their card.

These cards always take a few extra minutes to get through the first time. I always time my students, and then let them go through them a second and possibly third time to try to beat their record!

It comes in two formats: print and digital. The traditional print format will allow you to print the cards and play the game with your entire class. This is a fun cooperative game if you are looking for an opportunity to engage your entire class!

The newer digital format is compatible with Google Slides. It is set up to be a game students can play individually or with a partner. Students drag each of the 39 cards so that they are presented in order.

An answer key is included for teachers to follow along. A direction page is also provided.
