To improve instruction and reflection, you can utilize these documents before, during, and after classroom observations. To begin, follow these simple steps:

1) Email the “pre-observation conferencing document” to your teacher or staff member that is up for observation or review.
2) Have the teacher or staff member complete the document (electronically, boxes are expandable) and email it back to you.
3) Schedule a pre-observation conference to review the document, hear what the teacher has planned for your observation, and ask/answer any questions that either of you might have.
4) Print a copy of the pre-observation document and take it with you to the actual observation.
5) When the observation is over, email the “post-observation conferencing document” to the teacher. This document allows for authentic reflection on the teacher’s part.
6) Have the teacher complete the document (electronically, boxes are expandable) and email it back to you prior to your post-observation conference.
7) Schedule a post-observation conference to review the document, listen carefully to the teacher’s reflections, and ask/answer any questions that either of you might have.
8) Print a copy of the post-observation document and compile all documents to add to the teacher’s formative and summative evaluation folders.
