THE PERSPECTIVE: 21st Century students are savvy, interested and aware of challenges facing our world. The topic is discussed in the classes preceding AP and Global Challenges is one of the themes in the AP Spanish Language and Culture as well as in International Baccalaureate higher and standard levels exams.
THE PRACTICE: Students are given the tools to analyze the causes, obstacles and solutions of a global challenge of their choosing. They then present the findings to their peers.
THE PRODUCT: This product guides the student in a 2-part project: investigation and presentation of a global challenge that interests them. The teacher shares the slides, with margin notes, and the students follow the prompts. The tasks include:
