Pre-Intermediate A2 bilingual lexical cards for English-Russian learners

Each card contains a block of words, word-combinations or phrases related to the corresponding lexical topic (travelling, famous people, health, etc), usually 3 units per card. The units are interconnected with each other by meaning in order to be learnt easier and quicker.

Each topic also deals with a specific grammatical theme, eg Present Simple, Past Simple, which can be seen in example sentences. There are three examples of usage of the lexical items on each card. The examples let the learners see the way how the words can be used in speech or texts and also help to learn them in context.

The choice of words aims at getting the needed range of vocabulary and comprises only useful lexical items.

The translation of the words and sentences into Russian is put in such a way that it is possible to print out double-sided cards with the translation being on the backside of each card. You can print out the cards on any printer at home.

The choice of words which are put on one card is also important, as their meanings support the topic and strengthen the connections which help us memorize chunks and collocations.

The cards can be used to play games as they are easy to print out and include really useful and general vocabulary. It`s a good idea to laminate the cards in order to preserve them from any damage or being torn up.
