Description

This file includes everything needed to lecture, perform activities, and assess student learning. Lessons are built into the lectures, as outlined in the Unit Lesson Plan. All files are editable to meet your student, teaching and assessment needs.

The Unit progresses through the options that are available to students once they graduate from high school. Key vocabulary is highlighted, pictures represent content discussed, and content is delivered to challenge, but be realistic for students of various learning abilities.

Cloze Notes are included to help students with reading and writing disabilities, or students that may struggle with note taking. Blanks can be modified to address student needs and teaching strategies.

Finally, assessment pieces and activities are included. These assessment pieces are compiled directly from the notes and promote the students to reflect on their personal perspectives relating to education. A game for review and a study guide is included for students to prepare for the unit test. All activities, assessments, and resources progress to build on each other and use similar vocabulary.

This Unit was created to explore post-secondary options with students who may not understand the benefits of learning after high school, opportunities that are available, or have considered all of their options. This curriculum is helpful in showing options, initiating discussions, and preparing them for post-secondary education.
