Description

Are you wanting to be a more effective teacher in the classroom? This behavior management system was created for teachers by teachers to take back control of their classroom. It is filled with routines, tips and routines to set in place today and change the behavior in your classroom. It is designed to create a positive classroom culture where your students love to come to school.

Overview

This Positive Classroom Unit is filled with over 10 quick and easy classroom management tools and ideas. Teachers can implement these today and use over and over and from year to year.

This works great in a classroom that already uses Class DOJO and PBIS as well.

The product includes several Creative Discipline Menus, these help the teacher to give consequences without thinking on their feet. This is easy to grab, fill out, and hand to the child, all while you are still teaching.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Included:

  • Various Consequence Ideas and Menus: There is a huge variety for the teacher to choose from. They can pick the one that fits that child, their need, and the current situation of the classroom.
  • Editable Versions of the Menus: This is great if you want to create your own to fit a certain child or your classroom.
  • Think Sheet: This is an option on the Consequence Menu. It is a sheet students can fill out to work out why they may have made a bad choice. It is great to talk through with a child.
  • How to Manage Your Class from the beginning of the year til the end
  • Classroom Management Tips and Tricks
  • 10 Classroom Management Hacks: These hacks can be used today and will make a huge difference in the overall atmosphere of the class. They may be ones you have heard before or with a new spin.
  • Classroom Procedures Checklists which include over 40 procedures to have in place before students arrive.
  • Building Stamina charts and ideas for silent reading and independent work time
  • Listening Lessons: These are reserved for students who are in need of a consequence because they just can't quite get it together today. They are flexible and students respond well to them.
  • Student of the Day Signs and how to use and implement into your classroom

How the Creative Discipline Menu works...

There are a few ways that the teacher can use this for their classroom. One of the ways is that the teacher will choose the consequence that fits the need of their class and that student at that moment. The student never knows what consequence they will get. Is it worth the risk? The consequences become harder on each page.

The Listening Lessons portion is highly effective and makes a big difference especially for those kids that shout out, talk when they aren't supposed to and are constantly out of their seat.

WHY?

What makes this system work? Each student learns differently and each child needs to be disciplined differently. We differentiate our learning for different students in our class, why not differentiate the way we do behavior management.

You may have one student who responds well to taking the time to get to know them each day, one that needs a lot of positive reinforcement, one that needs to get up and move and another who needs a teacher to be very strict. It is our job as teachers to find out what that child needs, in the same way as teaching a child to read.

Once you figure out what makes them tick, you have won the game.

This system allows you to cater it between you and the child. It is not blasted out for all to see (like DOJO or a Clip Chart), but a private communication you have with the child. It is very easy to use and continue to use on a daily basis.

A well behaved and respectful class creates a positive learning environment to learn.
