What educators are saying

Doable in a short class period, and the text's questions were straightforward without being too basic.
This is a great resource! The information is much more engaging than what my district provides! Thanks for your hard work!

Description

Pope Urban Calls for Crusades Primary Source Analysis takes students back to November 27, 1095 at the Council of Clermont, when Pope Urban called on the first Crusade to take Jerusalem from the Muslim Turks. The effects of this speech would also inspire future crusades, shaking up western Europe’s feudal system, and worsen the relationship between Christians and Muslims indefinitely. This can be used in class or as homework as it’s a completely stand alone assignment, however it may need an instructor’s guidance for younger classes. This is also perfect for substitute teacher plans, and of course, a key is included.
