Ponderous Pumpkins

K, 1st, 2nd math fall activity. Form of measurement could be cups or grams. My class had 3 pumpkins for this activity. There were 3 groups, so a group of students only worked with one pumpkin for the entire activity. Students looked over the pumpkins, then estimated how many cups we could fill up with the seeds and pulp from the inside of the pumpkin. Students read from the provided sentence frames. Students took turns reaching into the pumpkin and pulling out the seeds, etc and filled up a 8oz. cup. At the end of the activity, students gathered their results and shared with the class using the provided sentence frames.
