What educators are saying

My students loved loved loved this. I had tech students coming up to me out of class and asking me questions about the project and if they can work on it at home!
Used this to connect our learning about animal adaptations and environments. My students LOVED it and the updates are so helpful and even more engaging! Thank you for this wonderful unit!

Description

This is a 2-3 week Cross Content Design Project.

Students will design their very own Pokémon, study various vocabulary words using kid dictionaries and the word banks included in this slide deck to help them create the name etymology of their Pokémon (ELA), use PebbleGo to help them design Pokémon based off their animal research, decide what type their Pokémon is (fire, water, grass, etc.), and what habitat they live in (Science) that will also be located on a map (Social Studies), as well as design one or two (for my advanced kiddos) evolutions (Science). They will write a Pokedex entry or description of their Pokémon (ELA). Once the design process is completed, you may take pictures of all of their Pokémon drawings and upload them into a Pokémon card creator thus creating their very own Pokémon cards. They will then practice battling using subtraction (Math), and ultimately have a tournament at the end of the unit. Students can be split up into Cohorts based on their mathematic abilities so that you may differentiate. That being said, there can potentially be three (or however many you need) separate cohort Pokémon League tournaments happening at one time. This unit is currently being worked on and is still incomplete. Keep checking back for potential updates!

Thank you all so much for your support!
