Description
Students will identify the point of view (POV) from which a story or poem is told (i.e. first person, third person). Readers will also distinguish their own point of view from that of the narrator or those of characters in a story. Last, students will determine the perspective of a narrator/author. That is, what he or she thinks about a topic.
These ELA reading comprehension worksheets have a mini-lesson and notes at the top to serve as an anchor, followed by a fictional reading passage (or poem) and several questions. Tips are included next to some commonly asked point of view questions to mentor students on how to best answer them. Use as test prep, or to teach and practice the fundamentals of point of view in stories-- a core reading comprehension skill.
