Description
Poetry for Beginning Readers – 55 Easy Phonics Poems by Phonics Advantage was written so that the very earliest readers could enjoy the rhythm and rhyme of poetry in a positive, “I can”, early reading experience. Careful attention was paid to rhythm and flow while writing these phonics poems. The phonics poems focus on short, decodable words, and are an excellent resource for reinforcing beginning sight words.
55 Easy Phonics Poems can be used for poetry centers, literature centers, supplemental reading material, and as resource to help parents and aids become better reading mentors. Use 55 Easy Phonics Poems as “backpack books”.
Poetry for Beginning Readers is broken into four sections: 1) 15 Vc phonics poems, 2) 13 Vvc phonics poems, 3) 14 Long-vowel phonics poems, and 4) 13 R-Controlled vowel phonics poems. Each of the 55 phonics poems comes in two formats: 1) A standard phonics poem format and 2) A version that has a short word family phonics section at the top of the page to reinforce the main rhyming words in the phonics poem and increase reading vocabulary. I recommend the phonics/vocabulary builder version for tutoring and diversification for lower reading groups.
Poetry for Beginning Readers – 55 Easy Phonics Poems makes reading fun and enjoyable for early readers.
