What educators are saying
My students greatly enjoyed this resource. I used it in my 5th grade and it went very well with my lesson. Thank you!
Description
This is a seed journal geared towards students germinating three different types of seeds. There are questions about germination and then the idea is that students choose one seed to watch grow and take observations on. Suggested seeds to grow are bush bean, sunflower and tomato.
Students are to fill in the seed journal with anecdotal notes as well as a diagram of what their seed looks like. The journal is to guide students through the stages of growth: germinating, sprouting and growth/maturation.
The final page is designed to be copied as many times as needed, as it provides a means for open-ended plant observation.
Students will:
- make observations
- record scientifically
- draw diagrams
- label diagrams
- use measurement tools
