What educators are saying

I loves this resource and felt it was extremely applicable to my classroom. Great job! I will be looking for products from this seller in the future!
I LOVE this. My kids had issues following instructions to cut the pages out, but these are too cute! My only complaints are that 1) it tries to teach rounding with a rhyme and 2) on the tab for Round & Compare, compare is spelled with two Ms, but otherwise, this is a great product!

How does this place value flipbook work?

This flipbook acts as a mini place value interactive notebook, ready for your place value lesson! The left hand side of each skill helps to TEACH the focus skill, acting as a mini anchor chart that students interact with and complete. On the right hand side, students engage in practicing their place value skills in multiple different ways.

The final section, ‘Put it All Together’ asks students to synthesize all skills in an engaging review of everything they have learned!

How can I use this in my place value lesson?

I suggest using the flipbook as you teach OR review each of these skills. It is a great visual guide for students learning these important place value concepts and something that students can refer back to week after week. It is also ideal for an end of unit review or nightly homework during your place value unit.

Use place value understanding to round whole numbers to the nearest 10 or 100.
Recognize that in a multi-digit whole number, a digit in one place represents ten times what it represents in the place to its right. For example, recognize that 700 ÷ 70 = 10 by applying concepts of place value and division.
Read and write multi-digit whole numbers using base-ten numerals, number names, and expanded form. Compare two multi-digit numbers based on meanings of the digits in each place, using >, =, and < symbols to record the results of comparisons.
Use place value understanding to round multi-digit whole numbers to any place.
Explain patterns in the number of zeros of the product when multiplying a number by powers of 10, and explain patterns in the placement of the decimal point when a decimal is multiplied or divided by a power of 10. Use whole-number exponents to denote powers of 10.
