Ahoy! The Talk-Like-a-Pirate Toolkit provides reading and writing activities to support a pirate-themed unit or International Talk Like a Pirate Day activities (every September 19th!).

This literacy toolkit includes:

>"Ye Pirate Name Generator": A quick, fun activity that uses students' birthdays to generate their unique pirate names.

>"Ye Pirate Dictionary": A dictionary of pirate-y talk and terminology, which also includes a variety of extension activities (adding illustrations, translating pirate-y speech, and more).

>"Our Teacher Was a Pirate": A silly bit of pirate poetry formatted both as a regular poem and as a readers' theater script makes a perfect, quick pirate reading activity. (The 2-page pirate readers' theater script is provided in both a 3-reader version and a 4-reader version.)

>"Would Ye Rather...?": Three different pirate writing prompts are provided, along with graphic organizers.

>Word Search: A just-for-fun word search as a bonus pirate activity
