There are 6 square puzzles where students will match the piecewise function with a written description and the graph. In this activity, students will cut out puzzle pieces and match the correct answers together. An answer key is included.
Some of the written descriptions give the students the exact equation. Some of the written descriptions describe a general situation and students must match a piecewise function that makes sense. See the preview to read the written descriptions of the functions.
Make sure this activity is appropriate for your students. Look at the thumbnails and download the preview to see examples of the properties. This activity could be used as an alternative assessment, a partner activity, or as a review before a test. I copy the student's sheet on colored paper and let them hang their finished product in the classroom. This could also be shrunk when copied and included in an interactive notebook.
