Picnic Speech Therapy Activities Language Following Directions BOOM™ CARDS

Picnics are a great spring theme for speech therapy, and this Boom Card™ deck allows you to target a range of goals! Students work on following directions in a fun and interactive way– by packing a digital picnic!

This activity allows you to target following directions at multiple difficulty levels! Choose from directions with 2, 4, 6, or 8 critical elements, depending in your student's goals and language abilities. Students can progress to the next "level" when they're ready!

✅ An AUDIO RECORDING of the direction that you can play with the push of a button

This activity keeps students actively engaged with bright, colorful food images that can be moved to the picnic basket via a touchscreen or mouse click and drag. Each card is also self-checking for students working independently in speech therapy or at home!

⭐ A BONUS OPEN-ENDED ACTIVITY ⭐ is also included in the deck, which can be tailored to nearly any language or articulation goal! Students make their own packing list, then pack a car with various items (kite, sunglasses, cooler, bubbles, etc.). Some ideas for use include...

There are 10 cards for each of the following levels:

• 2-element directions, such as "Put the pie and the salad in the picnic basket."
• 4-element directions, such as "Put the strawberries, hamburger, peas, and donut in the picnic basket."
• 6-element directions, such as "Put three bottles of ketchup, one slice of pizza, and two milkshakes in the picnic basket."
• 8-element directions: such as "Put three sausages, one salad, one steak, and two candy bars in the picnic basket."
