Physics Project: Create a Resistors Color Code Reader Using Google sheet

Improve your students' understanding of resistors and develop their Excel skills. The project aims to create a complete understanding of resistor color codes and enhance students' technological skills in a fun and engaging way by integrating hands-on resistor analysis, Excel competence, and interactive learning. You can use this activity for Middle and High school students.

This project is made up of two Google sheets that serve two objectives.

The first sheet is a 'resistor color code reader,' in which the user enters the color bands of a resistor, and the Google Sheet calculates and displays its resistance value with different unit conversions while also showing the resistor's color bands. The second sheet allows students to 'apply and plot the Ohm's Law equation.

Both projects also have questions that motivate students to think critically and use their knowledge about resistors. These questions serve as checkpoints to assess students' comprehension of the resistor and Ohm's Law lessons while also guiding their learning process.

The "Resistors' Color Code Project" can also be used as a final project for the Physics unit or as a distance learning activity. It provides a flexible learning environment in which students can work at their own pace and interact with the material regardless of their location.
