What educators are saying

These skill books were a wonderful resource to extend different phonics skills. I use them at the teacher table and as independent reading when I am working with other students at the teacher table. Great resource!!!
This is a great resource! The kids love making these books, and it helps them practice whichever skill we are focusing on.

    Description

Phonics Skill Books are perfect for teaching individual word families in isolation! 104 books are included to work on cvc words, blends, digraphs, bossy r, cvce and magic e, and vowel teams.

Each skill book is 8 pages long and is filled with practice opportunities that TEACH the skill before putting it into practice. The books will take your students on a journey that begins by learning the sound the word family/blend/chunk makes. Then, they will listen for the target sound, read words in isolation, read sentences, and then read a story to build fluency. Last, they will draw a picture to check for reading comprehension.

These books are perfect for introducing a new skill with the whole class, or to target missing skills in our guided reading books. The best part is, these books are easy to prep since you have to do is print, fold once, and staple the side.

A Phonics Skills Assessment is included in the BONUS FILE to help you find the areas where your students need support.
