After consulting a variety of Science of Reading resources and mentors, I created our phonics pacing guide for this year. There is strategic placement of certain spelling patterns within the school year, based on research of how students learn phonemes, and anecdotal data collected the previous school year. This pacing guide includes review concepts from Kindergarten, as well as incorporates a gradual increase in difficulty, as the year progresses.

This pacing guide also allows for time to review concepts at the end of the year, or extra time throughout the year due to school closings or school functions that may impact originally scheduled school days.
