What educators are saying

Great resource to introduce my students to organizing and thinking about their ideas before writing a good copy.
My kids needed some help to keep their thoughts organized. This was great for that and the kids were so happy to have a better understanding of what they were doing.

Description

NOW with 5 Different Versions to meet your students' needs!

These Persuasive/Opinion Writing Planning Sheets help students organize their writing before they move on to paragraphs. With the clean and simple design, they will be able to clearly see where their supporting details fit into their overall writing piece. This organizer also allows students to see which paragraphs need more details.

In my classroom I like to provide students with reading materials that they will use to see both sides of an argument. As they are reading, they take notes on a simple T-Chart. This provides them with pros and cons about a certain topic. Once they complete their reading/note taking, they choose a side that they will be writing about.

I pass out these planning sheets and model how to organize their thoughts and notes to support their opinion statement. These organizers help students feel more supported and confident when they set out to write their drafts.
