Description

Persuasive Writing Essays that Teach Students About Important Social and Political Issues in Our Country! With this resource I have provided a brief grade level appropriate overview of two sides of common social and political issues that many Americans are discussing. The students are then asked to create their own persuasive essay stating which side they most agree with.

Perfect for distance learning as well!

It is important to encourage students to “take a stand” and get involved in issues that Americans are facing today.

With each issue or topic you will also find a brief overview explaining the issue as well as the background of how the issue started and the thoughts and opinions of people from two opposing sides of the topic.

I have included a persuasive essay graphic organizer for each issue.

The information included with this resource will encourage in depth classroom discussions, engaging current event lessons as well as opportunities for your students to write meaningful persuasive or argumentative essays relative to today’s world.
