Why Teach Perspective Taking?
Perspective taking means being able to understand the thoughts, desires, feelings, and motivations of others in a variety of situations. It is being able to “put yourself in someone else’s shoes”. Perspective taking is the underlying skill for all social skills, as children and young adults must first consider how someone else might feel before they can process how to respond in a most-appropriate way.
