What educators are saying

This is perfect for the end of the year. My students were so excited to pick their own topic and lead the class.

Description

Do you ever wish there was some other way to present information to your class? If so, this is the activity for you! This can be academic or fun- your choice! Students have real chances to present information while helping to teach or review concepts with the class, or it can be non-academic and a great way to share about themselves!

You may find this helpful for concepts you need to review before assessments or you may want to use it with a class that needs to experience teaching (instill respect). While this is primarily designed for individuals and make great differentiated learning possibilities, you can easily modify them for group use.

With this engaging project, students will create their own lessons, teach their peers, assign and score an assessment, and then reflect on what went well or not so well. This create and teach lesson plan performance task is a great way to assess your students' problem solving and real-life application skills! Included are three versions of lesson plan templates and reflection pages for you to scaffold or differentiate as necessary.

This can be usedat any time of year! I have used this activity right before winter break, at the end of the year, and also right before Teacher Appreciation Week. The possibilities are endless.
