What educators are saying

These notes have been very helpful when introducing/reviewing percents with my 7th graders! The only issue I have is that the grid is 11x10 instead of 10x10, so it doesn't exactly show 28% as 28 out of 100. But I usually just have my students mark the last column out and it works!

Description

Tired of using traditional methods to teach this topic? With engaging doodles and step-by-step explanations, these note pages are the perfect tool for helping your students' master percent.

The first page defines percent and introduces changing ratios to percent and changing percents to decimals, while the second page delves into finding parts and wholes using information given and solving percent word problems.

With two versions of each page included (one with extra instructions and the other with more blank spaces for scaffolding), this resource is highly adaptable to suit the needs of all learners. Plus, completed suggested answer keys and pictures of completed pages provide easy reference and guidance for both you and your students.

A digital version of these pages is available here: Percent Digital Notes

To use these pages:

Review information with students. These are not your regular step 1, step 2,step 3 note pages. Go through them in the order your students need! You may start filling in information at the bottom of a page rather than the top. You may start on the left side instead of the right. There is no “correct” order. These notes are meant to help anchor student learning by providing clear, concise, engaging notes. Doodling and/or coloring should always be encouraged!
