Peer Review

Teach students how to provide valuable feedback to their peers and in turn improve their own work with this Peer Review resource, including teacher notes, student-friendly presentation and peer review feedback sheet! This complete Peer Review Teaching Package will introduce students to a simplified 4-step peer review process, task students to conduct a peer review of a classmate’s writing, and then prompt students to apply the feedback to their own writing to amend their drafts before submission. Peer Review has been shown to dramatically increase project comprehension, ensure high quality assessment submissions and are overall a great pre-draft task for ANY subject of ANY project!

Contents

1. Peer Review Feedback Sheet // Single-sided, following a specific, easy to understand review process. Three different designs for use with different grades/capabilities (easy differentiation) and/or individual/group review.

2. Teacher Notes (Lesson Plan) // A step-by-step guide to delivering an effective Peer Review lesson, including notes on each presentation slide.

3. Presentation // Colorful and highly engaging slides in PDF format explaining the Peer Review process, with a mini-activity that allows the teacher to model expectations of peer review.

Instructions for use

Detailed instruction is provided! This activity is always well received by my students, from year 7 to year 12. Once you've introduced your students to this method, you can then add Peer Review to all of your assignments in the future.
