Patterns Math Center - Continue the Pattern
Description
This fun math center activity is simple to prep and loads of fun for students. They will read the exisiting pattern featured on the caterpillar and then continue it using plastic math counters/chips.
Students will identify and continue a repeating color pattern in this activity.
They will take one of the 24 cards provided and ‘read’ the pattern - e.g. this pattern is red, yellow, red, yellow, red ...
This student then uses counters to continue the pattern to the end of the card. The pattern can be recorded on the student work page if you wish.
I've included:
♥ detailed instructions
♥ caterpillar cards
♥ a worksheet (either a recording worksheet or a fun-follow-up)
♥ a cover page to help you organize your resources for future reference
Pattern are AB, ABC, AAB and ABB
These activity can be used in a structured game rotation program, as math centers or in guided math. Once taught, it also makes a fantastic 'fast-finisher' activities for revision of key concepts.
