Description

What is a Seder Plate and why should I teach about it in a Passover Lesson in Sunday School? This lesson explains what a Seder Plate is and its importance in this easy, ready to go lesson.

This print or digital activity will help your students understand what Passover is, why it is so important, and the items on a Seder (say-der) Plate. A one page handout gives a review of Passover from Exodus and then explains the items on a Passover plate.

What's Included:

  • Page 1 - Lesson on what the Passover is and its importance and the items on a Seder Plate
  • Page 2 - Colorful cutouts with a "plate" to glue the appropriate bits of food on top of what they symbolize
  • Page 3 - Answer key to show where each food item should be placed

Using this Passover Seder Plate worksheet, you can teach about the Passover meal without difficulty.

You can simply print the pages and your lesson is ready to go.

TEACHERS LIKE YOU SAID…

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Jennifer H. said, "As my Catholic school class is learning about Moses, this was a great resources to give us a little more information on Passover and the significance of the Seder plate. Great resource for all ages and I appreciated the digital options as I have in person and virtual students. Thank you!"

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Jenny Leigh, "Colorful cutouts with a "plate" to glue the appropriate bits of food on top of what they symbolize. Accompanied by a "key" to show where each food item should be placed, and a short write up about the Seder Plate (pronounced Say-der). Used with second graders at a Christian school, which included a Jewish student. They were all excited to do this project, and we explained the original Passover."

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Kathleen H. said, "Great way to introduce Passover as a part of learning about world celebrations."

When I use this resource, I set a table with a tablecloth and goblets from a discount store. I put white Christmas lights around the room and turn off the overhead lights. Each place setting gets one of the "plates" included with this handout and scissors. Then we read about the Passover and cut out the elements to match the corresponding food item. It's a great way to teach about the Passover Meal without having to spend money on food items or hunting for groceries.

This lesson is perfect as part of an Easter series or the Last Supper. It can also be used as a stand alone lesson any time.

It also makes a great addition to a lesson on different world religions.

Available as a digital activity too!
